On Sunday, May 8, we welcomed Rev. Jane Floy Nicholson to preach and Karie Schroer Templeton to lead the Chancel Choir. Pastor Jane served as Associate in Ministry from 1996-2003. Ordained in 2009, she currently pastors the congregation at First Lutheran Church in Chambersburg, PA.  Her husband, Mark, whom she met and married during her time at BLC, attended with her. At the Q&A session following worship, Pastor Jane shared that she accepted our invitation “because I just love this place and the people here.” One of her favorite memories is how strong the music program was during her time with us.

Karie Templeton directed the Chancel Choir from 1984-1988. Retired after teaching vocal music in the Pittsford schools for 40 years, she now oversees the choral program at the Eastman School of Music Community Music School. She related that she and her husband were married at BLC and her son was baptized here. When asked about her favorite memory, she responded, “I remember the people…a lot.  Everyone was very friendly. I also remember that it was the first time the choir sang the anthem from the aisles, bringing the music close to all.”
