Sunday May 22, 2022 Anniversary Worship Service & Reception Pastor Wayne Shipman

On May 22, Pastor Wayne Shipman returned as our guest pastor, traveling from Idaho where he is currently serving a two-point parish, Emanuel Lutheran Church in Blackfoot and Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Pocatello, 24 miles apart.  Pastor Shipman, a former member of BLC, entered the ministry after a long career with Eastman Kodak.  He was ordained in 2020.  In his sermon, Pastor Shipman focused on the peace that God offers to all.  Following worship, Pastor Shipman shared photos of his family, his two parishes, and the beauty of the area around Pocatello where he and his wife, Janet, are living.  When asked why he agreed to return to BLC, he replied that “Bethlehem is a big part of my life.  I consider it my home church.”  Among his favorite memories of his time with us are “serving on committees and working with Second Sunday Ministry.  And the music program is amazing!”  He noted that he and Janet love the vast openness of Idaho, the beauty of the land, and the many opportunities to enjoy what nature has to offer.  Our thanks Pastor Shipman for being a part of our anniversary celebration!
