On Sunday, June 5, our guest pastor was Bishop Craig Satterlee. Currently Bishop of the North/West Lower Michigan Synod of the ELCA, Bishop Satterlee was our first Associate Minister, serving at BLC from 1987 – 1990. Legally blind, the Bishop shared both the gospel and his sermon from memory via taped message. As it was Pentecost Sunday, Bishop Satterlee interwove the themes of our anniversary with the rushing wind of the call of the Holy Spirit, reminding us that the Spirit continues to blow Bethlehem forward and into the next 100 years.
