Support the BLC Vision

We are Together in Christ.

This is the promise we carry with us whether we are gathered in worship, serving in the community, or living out the ordinary moments of our days. In all that we are and all that we do, we are connected by God’s love that is for us and that flows through us. At BLC, we are Building Lasting Community that follows Jesus. This community is not contained within the walls of the church. This community is found anywhere and everywhere that we are Together in Christ.

The work of Building Lasting Community that follows Jesus depends on all of our gifts and skills. Over the last year, we’ve invested in staff to support this work by crafting two new positions. Sarah Morrissette, Communications and Administrative Support, and Mark Finke, Ministry and Volunteer Support Coordinator, each bring abundant gifts to these positions. Both Sarah and Mark are committed to helping connect people – to the opportunities at BLC and to each other!

The work of Building Lasting Community that follows Jesus happens at all ages and stages of life. We are partnering with St. Paul’s Lutheran, Pittsford, for Confirmation – another reminder that community is about being Together in Christ, even across congregations! In addition, we are preparing high school aged youth as they prepare to attend their first National Youth Gathering in New Orleans next summer (and recruiting adults to support them). Through these ministries that touch people across all generations, we continue to share the Good News of Jesus!

The work of Building Lasting Community that follows Jesus needs you. We are grateful for all the ways that you participate in the ministry we share. From worship to service, all that we are and all that we do is a response to God’s presence and gifts in our lives. Will you prayerfully respond in generosity with a financial gift to support the ongoing work of Building Lasting Community that follows Jesus through Bethlehem?

Going for Green:

A greener approach to giving: no paper required. An enormous amount of natural resources are consumed in the production, transportation, processing, and disposal of paper checks. The trend towards online payments has reduced the use of paper
checks by more than 50% since 2000.

Is online giving safe? Yes. In many ways giving online is safer than writing a check or carrying cash because an electronic gift cannot be lost or stolen. Bethlehem works with Tithe.ly, a respected service provider selected by the ELCA, to process our transactions. They employ top industry standards to protect and secure account information. Tithe.ly processes transactions for more than 5,000 churches and non-profits.
