Share in a brief time of Midweek Evening Prayer & Reflection: After launching this new worship opportunity last Wednesday, we continue this in-person, outdoor gathering each Wednesday through September 29. We gather at 7 pm for a brief time of midweek evening prayer and reflection in the BLC parking lot. In rain or sun (but never lightning!) we’ll gather together to hear Scripture, reflect on the text as a group, and offer prayers on behalf of the community. These short gatherings will give us a chance to experience gathering with other members of the BLC community in a physically-distanced way. Masks are required (we’ll have some available if you forget yours). Bring your own chair and an umbrella (if needed). The church building will not be open for these gatherings. We’ll ask you to park in the Landing Lot or on Perrin Street so we can preserve our parking lot for our gathering time. We will extend the blessing of our gathering by collecting non-perishable donations for our Perinton Food Shelf (see the Serve section for more details) at these services.
Gather in the parking lot. Please bring your own chair and, if raining, an umbrella. If there is lightning, we will not gather.
Loving our neighbors. Please stay home if you are experiencing cold, allergy, or flu-like symptoms or have a temperature of 100° or more. Masks must be worn at this liturgy. Please bring your own mask; a limited supply will be available at the building if you forget. We wear masks and observe physical distancing as a practice of love toward our neighbors. If you cannot or will not wear a mask, please stay home. We will observe 6’ physical distancing and ask your cooperation.
Notes on the service. This will be a service of Evening Prayer. There will be no congregational singing during the liturgy. The order for worship will be announced only and will not be printed in a bulletin. We will have a sound system in place, as long as it’s not raining! There will be no sharing of the peace with physical contact. There will be no celebration of Holy Communion at this service.
Practice adaptability. We don’t know what to expect in terms of turnout or weather so we will trust the Holy Spirit to guide us in adapting our plans as needed on Wednesday and in the weeks ahead. We appreciate your flexibility as we adapt to these new circumstances.
If you have been longing for connection with your BLC community, we invite you to share in this time of reflection and prayer with us on Wednesday evening!
