BLC Responds to COViD-19…

Mar 22, 2020

BLC Today

Amidst the rapidly changing course of events around COVID-19, your co-Pastors and the church office are working very hard to customize our offerings and to keep things up to date and easily accessible for you.  This past week, we added a new tab to our website where you can look for the most recent communications, the most current calendar, ways to help, and documents to accompany the virtual worships we have been working hard to offer to you. The tab is called BLC Today (https://blcfairport.org/blc-today/)

Stay Connected…

Hopefully by now, you have received and read the email communication that was sent yesterday about the ways we are working to help you remain connected to one another during this time of physical distancing. If a member of Bethlehem is not receiving email communication from the church office, please let us know (office@blcfaiport.org) so that we can include them on a call list and make sure they are also receiving updated information. Please take time to read this letter if you have not done so. Ongoing updates within the week will always be posted on BLC’s webpage at http://www.blcfairport.org under BLC Today.

Your co-pastors remain available for pastoral care and connection at this time. Please contact them directly through email, phone, or Facebook messenger if there’s care or support you need. Especially if you are feeling isolated, lonely, or disconnected, please reach out. If you need assistance obtaining groceries or need other errands run, we have volunteers who have offered to do this for others. Please let your Bethlehem community help you, if needed!

Stay Up to Date…

LYO Scavenger Hunt, BLC Madness, and most other previously scheduled meetings have been cancelled or are being held in a virtual group. Holy Yoga and BSA Scout meetings have been cancelled through April 1.

These plans are still changing by the day. We fully expect some of the above to be postponed or to happen in a different format. Please check our website for the most updated information about plans for the week ahead in light of emerging protocols in response to COVID-19. Please continue to watch your email, check the BLC Today tab at http://www.blcfairport.org and BLC’s Facebook page for up-to-date information about virtual connections for mid-week Bible study, Lenten book study, Wednesday evening prayer and Sunday worship services and more!

We continue to hold remote office hours M-F from 9 am to 12 noon. During these times, please call (585) 223-0634 to reach us directly, otherwise you may continue to email us at office@blcfairport.org and we’ll respond as we’re able. For further assistance or urgent pastoral care needs outside of office hours, please call the office and leave a message on the pastoral care line. Pastor Amy and Pastor Hoffman remain available by phone and email at other times.

Stay Safe…

During this time, we want to be especially cautious about limiting the spread of COVID-19 to those who are most vulnerable in our community.

Therefore, recognizing that this virus lives on hard surfaces, we are limiting access to our building and encouraging you to help us do that by considering this guidance before coming to Bethlehem:

1. In the last 14 days, have you or anyone you have been in contact with, felt ill, currently sick or been sick with any of the following: flu-like symptoms, sneezing, coughing, stomach ache/pain/flu, fever?

2. Have you used any public transportation; airplane, taxi, bus, subway, ride share (Uber, Lyft) etc in the last 2 weeks?

3. Have you been out of the country in the last 2 weeks?

If you have answered YES to any of the questions above, we ask that you refrain from entering our building at this time. If your access to the building is essential, please limit the surfaces you touch and wash your hands upon entry and exit. We thank you for helping us to love our neighbors in this way.
