Quarterly Forum RecapAug 02, 2019
Quarterly Forums were held following worship on both July 25 and 28. Council President Rick W. recapped the results of the special council meeting on June 9 affirming that our pastors are guided by the ELCA Social Statement on Human Sexuality in their roles as pastoral caregivers.
Treasurer Alan S. presented an overview of BLC’s financial position. While receipts continue to lag behind our projections, expenses also are less than anticipated. This, combined with earnings from investments and rental property, will allow us to end the fiscal year with a smaller deficit than budgeted.
Bob S. presented the plans for BLC’s 100th anniversary celebrations in 2021. Thirteen members of BLC have spent five months planning over 70 events and activities that will take place over a ten-month period in 2021. These include former pastors, choir directors and musicians returning to participate in our celebrations, historical displays, community outreach, fellowship activities, and much more.
