Puerto Rico Trip NewsJan 10, 2020
Be part of the adventure! Nine members of BLC are traveling to Puerto Rico February 15-23 to help continue reconstruction and clean up from Hurricane Maria.
We will connect you to our experiences through a daily blog. We will be staying and eating at the Lutheran camp on the island. We will be completing an array of tasks which may include painting, rubbish removal, roofing, plumbing, electric, and basic construction. We will accompany our sisters and brothers in Puerto Rico, who feel abandoned in their time of need. We will spend time reflecting on our experiences and challenging misconceptions. We will attend church services while there and will celebrate that the Caribbean Synod has a Global Companion, like we do, in Southern Africa.
Help with the cost of travel and supplies! See the display in the narthex and donate to add a picture to our diorama or get your picture taken with a hard hat on to be displayed in the kiosk slide show. Donations can also be made through http://www.Tithe.ly/give. Be sure to note that your donation is for the Puerto Rico trip. Donations are tax deductible.
Travelers are: Paige H., Julie O., Jackie S., Carolyn S., Rick and Beth W., Hans and Amy W-P, and Dave W.
Thank you to those who have donated! We hope to raise $5000 toward the cost of travel, supplies, and a portion to leave with Lutheran Disaster Response on the island.
