Are you interested in the Civil War, specifically in Gettysburg and the battle that occurred there? The BLC Fellowship Committee is presenting “Gettysburg with John,” a 4-day, 3-night excursion to Gettysburg PA, September 14-17. There will be a multiple lesson, on-the-battlefield experience taught by John S.
There are two options for lodging: accommodations at the United Lutheran Seminary, Gettysburg Campus, as well as camping at the Gettysburg Campground. Travel and lodging will be at the expense of each person attending, either Seminary or campground. A per person event cost will include program materials and lunch and dinner for both Saturday and Sunday. Meals for Friday and Monday will be your responsibility.
The program taught by John S. will include lessons on Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning. There may be some advance reading and lessons at church in the weeks leading up to the event.
At this point, the committee is looking for people interested in participating in order to move forward regarding lodging, especially at the Seminary. (Currently we have 12 rooms reserved, double occupancy.) The deadline for a commitment and payment for the event fee will be July 15. There is a sign-up sheet on the kiosk in the Narthex as well as an electronic sign-up found on the BLC website at http://www.tiny.cc/BLC-Gettysburg . Look for more info to follow.
The “Gettysburg with John” committee consists of Wayne and GerryAnn W., Dianna and Bob D., Sue and Rich T., Donna and Jim B., and Pat and John S. Feel free to ask questions!
