BLC needs YOU to Serve WITHIN our congregation! Volunteering can provide friendship, growth, learning, fulfilling engagement, and more! This list represents just a few of our existing opportunities:
Greeters: Meet and greet Bethlehem members either early or late worship. Vacations and fringe benefits available! Contact Wayne W., greeter coordinator.
Communion Glass Washers: Washing communion glasses is done immediately following each worship service. Grab a friend or sign up your family for this service activity that can also provide fellowship time. Contact the church office if you would like to help.
Crucifers: Looking for a way to participate in worship on occasion? Please consider being part of the Crucifer Team. The Crucifer is included in worship approximately 12 times during the year. You would lead the processional into worship, participate in the gospel, and lead the recessional out. In some instances, you may be needed as an assistant for communion. If you are interested in assisting with this opportunity, please contact Bev E.
Second Sunday Dinner Ministry: Urgent need for a DISHWASHER! Can you spare a few hours once a month to work in the kitchen washing dishes? If you can help, please contact Paulette C.
Barnabas Ministry: BLC’s Barnabas Ministry is a ministry of encouragement that supports people in a variety of ways. Can you help encourage others? Contact Pastor H. (email@example.com) or the church office for more info. The following list is only a part of how the Barnabas Ministry cares for one another:
–>Coordinator needed for the Prayer Shawl ministry. Follow the prayer listing and listen for people or circumstances that could use a tangible sign of our community’s prayers then send them a prayer shawl.
–>Christmas bags for homebound members. Help us remind those who can’t come to worship regularly that they remain in our thoughts by putting together these gift bags. The bags are delivered by our regular monthly visitors or the Christmas carolers. This is a perfect way for a family to serve together and spread holiday cheer!
–>Provide hospitality for a funeral. When a funeral need arises, it helps to have a ready list of people to contact. Are you willing to serve as an usher, lector or communion assistant for a funeral? Or can you be available to help set up, clean up or serve at a lunch reception? For those who do not have daytime flexibility, can you bake cookies or make sandwiches for a reception? (Food can always be dropped off in advance!)
